Club Furies Review | Fantxsma’s Santa Rosa Vibes by drecords: a sonic reverie

The label for good new music, fresh beats, and curated events with good vibes. Based in Mexico, it seeks creativity and hidden talents within the Latin American scene to create a community that brings a new sense of integrity to our music. We are talking about the Mexican label drecords, which presents its new release with Fantxsma.

An audiovisual project focused on the dance floor, which rescues sounds of hip-hop, new beat, Detroit, and acid house to transform them into hypnotic music. Visually, it tells the story of life in the streets, boxing, and sports in general. The goal is art in motion.

This release titled SRV (Santa Rosa Vibes) is a deeply personal and inspiring artistic manifestation. It is based on the experiences of the artist’s adolescence, martial arts, his experiences, and the value of friendship and vital bonds. A musical work that is simply a reflection of him. It is a window into his beginnings, a vivid portrait of life in the neighborhood, and a profound assessment of the value of the people who make up that community.

S.R.V. is a reunion with his past and his ghosts, to be able to find himself and start from scratch, to go through each and every one of the moments of growth, as well as the challenges he has overcome in his life. To be able to return to his beginnings, with different eyes, learning, but, above all, knowing and understanding himself better.

The sound is a faithful artistic reflection of those experiences: it manages to be retro in the present; that is to say, contemporary that goes back to past sounds. Finely spun, with subtle sonic layers, the present/past and past/present interplay is simply spectacular. When you wonder how the artist manages to pour his experiences into his art, listen to this track.

Muay means in his life the power of pugilism, Thai boxing, the respect and admiration for this discipline. This is spectacularly noticeable in the strength of the sound, as well as his gentle treatment of this quality. It signifies the path he is on, thanks to which he stopped being and feeling lost, allowing him to feel in synergy with this way of life.

The inherent strength manages to impose its rhythm, with which it is also noticeable how the new meaning of life for the artist is embodied in that sonorous character. The silence to which the track ends up going is only the way to subtly say: here I am with new energy.

Hustler embodies life in the ghetto through a person who grows up in it: the street fights, the vibe of the dangerous neighborhoods, its people, its dealers, and the whole mix of people who live here. A house with very sophisticated sounds, but with dyes and flashes that denote the external influence of the sound, making it an extraordinary sound.

Accompanied by precise vocals, which raise the expectations and emotions, followed by broken rhythms, the track ends up dazzling the listener, now ready for more things. In its evolution, the sound stabilizes in idyllic hypnotisms and past romanticizations, strongly rooted in the present.

Eliazar‘s remix to SRV electrifies everything, dissolving any present past, and imbuing it with nostalgic pasts, in a formidable movement. Once the electricity has dissolved, acid and dark malevolent feints take over the sound. In this way he also manages to eternalize the past in the present and the night in the night, ensuring a club touch to the release.

This EP is, in essence, a celebration of lessons learned and influences that have left an indelible mark on him. A great drecords release by Fantxsma.
