Less than a year ago, Nativo started its ambitious project: the management of a residency in a club in Culiacán, Sinaloa, the production of events, and soon the first line in the catalog. Regarding the latter, the Nativo community is more than happy to kick off its compilation series. The timing was right after the end of a global pandemic experience that ended up completely changing our reality and how we interact with it.
Nativo decided it was time to lay the cornerstone of NATIVO. What is Nativo? «We are not a record label, not a promoter, not a venue or club. We are a space for electronic culture and its players. If it’s honest and well done, we’ll take it». The manifesto is precise and devastating.
How to implement it? By seeking to promote a safe space, where the team’s perspectives for electronic music in the north of Mexico are expressed, with a priority focus on music. Always on the side of artistic concerns.
Who are the members of this space? Roliva, Prince Terrible, Fausto, and Chinosynth, or the fantastic four, if we can call them that. They identified the need to create a platform where all this could happen in the region.
Celebrating the beginning of the journey, Nativo has put together a compilation, which records the birth of this journey, of nine original tracks featuring in-house and guest artists: the fantastic four are joined by Alex Aguayo, Undefined Pattern, Sixtoagusto, Technicism, and Velax.
New sounds, which consider and honor the references of the past, thus narrating a new spectrum of possibilities. The first volume is a sonic adventure to be contemplated and at the same time enjoyed from start to finish.
Club Furies presents the premiere of a collaboration of one of the members of the family. We are talking about Prince Terrible, an electronic music producer, designer, and artist from Sinaloa, Mexico, whose sound revolves around Techno, EBM, Electroclash, and Darkwave.
The electronic body music of our Prince Terrible is something you can feel eo ipso in the atmosphere, once the first seconds of the track start. After an ominous announcement, which only lasts a few seconds, darkness, electricity, and menace come upon us. It’s time for Prince Terrible‘s magic to take over Nativo and the dancefloor and the night.
The expression «point-blank» refers to a certain abrupt and too direct way or to something that is too close. The sound of Quemarropa is therefore direct: direct to our heart, direct to the dancefloor, direct to the starry night, direct to the sound. A bullseye of this first Nativo compilation.
And when the track brushes the end, we realize that we are elsewhere, far from the comfort of our home. In the vicinity of the prince’s grounds. We can only wait for what comes next: for the moment, we have fallen victim to the darkness and the threats it hides.
