Club Furies

Veneno and Hotline‘s Various Artists Compilation is here! The Mexican label, based in Mexico City, and the independent women’s movement that unites artists, DJs, and trans and non-binary music lovers in Latin America, join forces to bring us a collection of music produced by women.

Blue Command, Deenia, Glo My, Les Freetangas, Re Parra and Rompiste Mis Flores take over Veneno and Hotline HQ. With a sound that is close to some of the Mexican label’s latest releases, fresh, with some Breaks flashes, and all the power of the vocals, these women take over the sound.

One of the tracks that make up this compilation is by Deenia, our beloved Mexican producer and disc jockey, boss and founder of Hot Line, and boss of Veneno. Infrared is the term for the radiation of the electromagnetic spectrum in physics. It is a longer wavelength than red and has a high calorific value.

Deenia’s Infrared is a constant sweep of sonorous infrared light: covering everything with Techno, Acid, and latent excitation, the sound grows progressively amidst clubby fears that are there, but expectant and reticent. The dancer has to go for it.

A voice calls out to us… Without knowing precisely what it says, we go towards it. It envelops us in reddish halos and piercing percussions that quickly fade away. A sonorous hiatus rests our excitement. Everything blurs into silence and bare vowels.

Everything grows back into the darkness that begins to turn black and purple amidst the red that transitions into those colors, as the sound slows down and the percussions go into delirium. Infrared is the perfect track for the sound to turn from red to purple.
