After a few intentionally quiet months focused on other projects, Bristol-based artist Other Form returns with a fresh sound to send the year off. It’s two heavy cuts, driven by polyrhythmic percussion and the occasional Rephlex-esque pad, which propel us into dancefloor explorations. These cuts are joined by a hazy, sub-heavy, dubbed-out reimagining of the first track, which pays homage to the producer’s hometown, intended for more introspective moments.
We’re talking about All the faults, all lined up, which splits into two tracks, All the faults and All lined up, with the reimagined version of Other Form. «All the faults, all lined up» is the linguistic starting point of this release; all lined up begins with intermittent, but continuous patterns, revealing powerful vibrations on microscopic levels – a genius of sound design. Everything remains perennially uneasily calm.
This uneasy calm slowly begins to turn into a quiet storm, which means that the sound structure undergoes significant changes. In the end, everything becomes well-polished, diamond-sharp sonic tunnels, flashing speed and sophistication.
