Indefinite Pitch presents Siddhi, the extended play from Lithuanian producer Hamandra, who now calls Germany home, for the label based in Yantai, China. This EP invites us on a transformative musical odyssey that transcends geographical boundaries, weaving the tapestry of interconnectedness.
Three original tracks comprise this work: Dharma, the righteous path, acts as our guiding light on the spiritual journey, fostering ethical living and inner harmony. Ananda, the bliss that flows from within, represents the supreme satisfaction we long to experience. It embraces our true nature and the interwoven fabric of existence, finding solace in the exquisite beauty of the present moment. Through Siddhi, we unlock the extraordinary potentials that reside within us, master striving, and transcend beyond the realm of the ordinary. These achievements offer a profound insight into the cosmic symphony, awakening latent powers awaiting expression.
This album embodies a fusion of cultural influences and global resonance. While the lyrical takes pay homage to Hamandra‘s Lithuanian roots, this connection to heritage is further amplified through remixes created by other Lithuanian musicians and amplified by foreign artists. Furthermore, the EP’s release on Indefinite Pitch – a German-Chinese label – serves as a testament to the expansive nature of music, symbolizing its ability to transcend geographical boundaries and unite diverse cultures and languages.
Ananda is the track that cuts the EP originals in half. From the silence of our inner self, in search of calmness that is at the same time energetic enough to reach that maximum degree of satisfaction possible. This requires from the sound design ambivalent layers, which are calm on the one hand and electric on the other. And the intermediation in the sound is done by strands of nature lit up in neon green. This activates ambivalence and leads us to bliss.
Thin strands of happiness probe the atmosphere, reaching into silence, amid echoes of another time and waves vibrating towards nothingness and our inner self. And for the moment, a few vowels activate the electric side of ambivalence. As all satisfaction requires calm, we realize that ambivalence is actually a two-sided form: electricity and energy on one side and relaxation and peace on the other. Light sound circuits interact with each other as the voice commands the end of the search, letting silence take the place of sound.
