Club Furies

Ninasonik was born in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico. She is an electronic music producer, vocalist, and founder of the music production school Vaarian, as well as the label Vaarian. She has collaborated with international and national producers, participating in numerous events and festivals in Mexico. She is currently in the premiere of her new live act. Her sound is not pigeonholed in any musical genre, and the fusions he makes of house, techno, disco, and many mutant melodies offer us a concept that will make us vibrate, dance, and even take us to a chameleon-like state of mind. Ninasonik empowers herself, looking for the professional realization in the production, giving way to the versatility of the dancefloor, and the visibility of women within the Mexican electronic scene.

For his part, Ali X is a Canadian producer and DJ, who was first seduced by Mexico and then became imbued by mezcal and the land of Oaxaca, where he has been based for some years now. He is an established artist on the local scene, as well as on the world scene, who from his first rockstar glimmers – remember that mythical but short-lived Canadian band Azari & III – showed that his sound was not like any other. Yes, we know that «his sound is not like any other» may sound like a cliché concept for any artist. The truth is that for the Mexican by choice, this has never been more true.

Co-founder of Controlla, half of the duo Ali X x Ximena, and creator of excellent productions, he has now teamed up with Ninasonik to present Rapsodia. The word refers to the broad passage of an epic poem, especially one of Homer’s, made up of several songs. An original song, a dub version, and remixes by Diskontrol and TH3OS shape the whole.

The sound is at first robotic and freewheeling, which is quickly covered by several groups of vocals that are very suggestive, as well as dynamic. Among this set of vocals, the first sings «futurist», the second «artist, optimist, feminist, idealist, anarchist, pacifist, terrorist, progressive, surrealist, capitalist», while the third becomes the center of it all – listen to him directly. And when the third enters the scene, everything implodes in a final delta, i.e. the rhapsody is complete.

Transversal to everything, another voice emerges, imperative and rupturist, which gives a rather peculiar framework to the first voice with the various groups of vowels that make up the song. And between that level of vocals, the level of sound always plays in different rhythms that form vast mountain ranges that flit between calm valleys and intense peaks. Together they form sonic strata that flow into each other in a combustible way, achieving the perfect symbiosis.
