Club Furies

SOTO is the techno project of Graciela Soto, a true force in the techno music world. Born and raised in Venezuela, she moved to London in 2014, where she quickly fell in love with the electrifying techno scene. She dedicated herself to attending as many parties and festivals as she could to fully immerse herself in the culture. His unique style draws from a diverse range of influences, blending hypnotic melodies and hardcore industrial beats to create a sound all his own.

With his undeniable talent and dedication to his craft, SOTO is fast becoming one of the most exciting rising stars in the techno music world. In addition to her impressive live performances, SOTO made waves in the techno world last summer with the release of her debut track Core on the prestigious Second State label. Following this release, she is set to release her first four-track EP on Spanish label Diffuse Reality Records.

From the French morphine, and this from Morphée ‘Morpheus’, god of sleep, morphine is a highly addictive main alkaloid of opium, with very powerful narcotic and analgesic properties. This is also the title of the closing track of SOTO‘s work on the Spanish label. A fundamental quality of the sound is present in the interstices of it. At first, the sound hits like a techno sledgehammer in the middle of unfamiliar, crowded raves. A sonic drill that shudders the cement of the dancefloor and the most oblique minds through persistence and inherent voracity.

But, once this perseverance reaches its limit, it bursts into hypnosis and very subtle velvety sound morphine, not before flashing exciting rhythmic peaks. The morphine in the blood has taken its toll: the heart speeds up before slowing down. However, if we combine the speed of the poured techno and the effects of morphine on the body we arrive at a paradoxical result: acceleration and deceleration in the same sound. Or rather, an acceleration in the sound of something that decelerates the body.

This paradox is dissolved in SOTO‘s sound design, which achieves an impressive effect. The acceleration of something that is by nature decelerating. So conceptually, as well as sonically, this track closes an incredible debut, SOTO‘s first EP, which leaves us wanting more. Diffuse Reality Records with SOTO‘s Gontri stamp an extraordinary release.
