Club Furies

The new installment in the series from Dosis Records, the label headed by Chilean producer Sam Wilson and currently based in London, UK, has arrived. This release is a Various Artists that balances physical and mental techno in a dark and tense well well-placed, dancefloor-oriented environment. The producers in charge are Cia Rebeck, Dangelo (ARG), Jose Monsalve, Lakej, Ledd, Motion Symmetry, and the honcho Sam Wilson.

Sweden’s Lakej presents Phoresis, a term that in biology refers to a type of commensalism in which individuals of one species use those of another species as a means of transport without benefit or detriment to the latter. Perched at the heart of the party and the night, the sound is dense, thick, and loud. Using fierce hypnosis, but mediated by a well-crafted, sharp, but thick sound design, it bursts into deep psychic delusions.

But then, what is the relation of this sound to the title? Sound is a means of transport for the dancer that carries him into the veins of the night. Only in this case, it does benefit from the dancer’s response to its sound. Indifferent to city life, so full of stimuli that they become infinite ways to evade them, Lakej‘s sound manages to refocus the dancer back on something specific: a sound full of dark, thick atmospheres.

And on the whole, this is an evolving third release, still anchored in the essence of Dosis Records. In a constant aufhebung that anchors us to the sound of the London label, but that at the same time shows new, empowering sonic novelties. A perfect combination.
