Embrace the future of techno with Antimodus, an innovative independent record label founded in 2021, based in Berlin, Germany. Antimodus takes us through a sonic journey of raves joined together in dimly lit basements, where flickering lights set the mood. It’s a hard rave, relentlessly dark and lightning-fast. For their latest release, the Berlin-based label presents Läserstein, an extraordinary producer and live-act duo whose tireless pursuit of cutting-edge techno is renowned. In a world where individuality is often the focus of attention, Läserstein chooses to remain a mystery, letting their music do the talking – keeping it safe in the real underground, even if that term is currently mystified. Both members of this dynamic duo come from the underground scene, where they honed their craft and cultivated a deep reverence for the art of techno.

What really sets Läserstein apart is their unwavering commitment to creating world-class techno. They are not simply artists; they are sonic architects who meticulously mould each track to perfection. Their soundscapes are a testament to their dedication to pushing the boundaries of the genre, exploring uncharted sonic territories and opening up new frontiers. Sonic Royale EP is a musical masterpiece composed of four original tracks, whose linguistic presentation continues the logic of the German duo’s previous releases. This EP is a sonic journey like no other, with four tantalising techno tracks that promise to captivate our senses.

HOW, the second track, delves into the rawest and deepest aspects of techno, taking us on an immersive sonic expedition. Amidst jungle sounds set deep in the night and relentless techno mallets, our Bulldozer begins its roar. Rising fast but precisely above the dancefloor and the raver’s perception, it cuts through the air with fine sonic blades. Bright, sharp, voracious. Expectant, fearful, exciting, the sound rushes at us.

The climax of the sound arrives stealthy, amidst the sonars of some space traveller or some half-decayed machine from the future. The expectations ups again. When it is at its peak, it confronts the raver, who has prepared a correct response to the proposed sound. The structure of the sound now allows for rhythmic labyrinths, which unsettle the raver; once again, the sound takes over. Lost in the sound, the mind wanders aimlessly, enraptured by the experience it has been confronted with.

HOW is then a techno sound guide that tells us how to make techno and how to manage the dancer’s experience in sound, knowing how to take it through an ever-changing, but always precise and well-managed sound design. In the end, the only thing left is the techno mallets booming in the speakers, which are exhausted; exhausted from one of the best techno proposals of today. Thus, Läserstein, known for their unrivalled commitment to quality techno music, have outdone themselves with their next EP. The anticipation surrounding this EP is palpable, and rightly so, as they have consistently demonstrated their ability to create soundscapes that transport listeners to new dimensions.
