R/D/V is the pseudonym of Luca Redivo, an audio engineer, DJ, and producer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is the latest signing from the São Paolo, Brazil-based label Primitive State Records, one of our favorite labels when it comes to serious techno. The artist from the Netherlands presents the new reference entitled Heartache, a work of three original tracks and remixes by Linear Phase and one of the bosses label Anders (BR). In this work, he explores his main features with dense and hypnotic tracks on a mental journey. While the remixes complement the mental and groove side of this episode.
The feeling of heartache refers to a sorrow or anguish that deeply invades the heart. One of the first reactions we identify when it comes over us is strangeness. What the hell is it that we’re feeling? Odd‘s sound plays with this first sensation and combines it with a sound design that transmits calm and tranquillity. In the face of strangeness, calmness. Tranquility and precision in the design of the sound layers that structure this track, which runs placidly in time.
Between dense and sharp sound ridges and heavy atmospheres, the sound becomes fierce and voracious. In search of the next feeling that addresses this grief and anguish, once the strangeness has been owned and internalized. It’s time for remixes to pick up where the original R/D/V sound left off.
