Duplicity is a label and podcast series focusing on hypnotic, groovy, and forward-thinking percussive techno sounds, based in Edinburgh, UK. With two fresh various artists compilations, it’s time to complete the trio. This time it’s called Tertius – which means precisely something composed of three elements. Comprising 32 original tracks, its sounds are rooted in hypnotic, groovy, and underground techno.

Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Bob Semp is a techno enthusiast who has been traveling the world of electronic sound since 2016. His music is a unique blend of beats ranging from fast-paced minimalism to rawness and invites listeners on an emotional sonic journey. The Dutchman contributes a track entitled Forged Horizons.

A horizon is a set of possibilities or perspectives offered on a subject, situation, or matter. Whereas forging refers to a form of metal processing. If we speak of forged horizons we speak of such a set of possibilities that undergo a process of transformation. The sound of the track translates into fast and agile rhythms, which find transparent parallels in finely crafted, shiny, and sharp metals.

Unstoppable speed, like the forging of a samurai’s sword, in the manner of Blue-Eyed Samurai, in a fierce, persistent, and unstoppable time. Surrounded by fluttering metallic sparks and smoking horseshoe splashes, the sound of Forged Horizons achieves what it enunciates. Possibilities that open up amidst processes of emergence are bright and bluesy, as well as subtle and sharp.
