Club Furies

The Diffuse Reality Records boss returns to his label to present a work entitled Times of Change, and it consists of Clouds, High Temperatures, Rain, and Mental Climate, i.e. four original tracks. I remember someone once reminding me of a Chinese proverb: «In times of change, you can build walls or windmills». Times can be atmospheric-environmental, social-political, artistic-avant-garde, or some other kind.

The semantics alluded to by Squaric in the use of the track titles probably indicate the first type: between clouds, high temperatures, and rains there is perhaps a unity of meaning; not so in the last track, which alludes to a psychic state about the weather. The sound of tracks one and three is smoother than that of tracks two and four. As the rain approaches, the clouds darken and swirl tightly around each other to form a soft greyish mass that warns that drops are imminent.

The sound of Rain runs parallel to that moment of calm and sweet waiting for the rain, which is inevitable. Walking along the pavements of some city street, or in the vicinity of a dirt lawn in some non-city place, the smell of rain fills the soul and the psyche. Velvet, magic, mystery, brilliance, sophistication. Those are the words and sensations that would define this track by Times of Change, who have decided to go with the changes and polish a shimmering, well-defined sound.
