From Cologne, Germany, Vivez creates deep and hypnotic soundscapes that blend dissonant melodies with fast percussion, achieving harmony between the two in a single body of sound. Vivez is an artist who creates a vibrant and organic sound. Vivez became deeply interested in the use of reverb and delay effects, which have now become defining elements of his sound. These tools add depth to his productions, transporting listeners into hypnotic soundscapes.

The producer’s talents now land on the Spanish platform Diffuse Reality, where he presents Beyond the Surface, one of two works he is about to release there. Made up of six original tracks, the titles of which follow the logic of the title of the complete work: what lies behind the surface. One of those tracks is Shattered Veil: What Happens When a veil is Tilted or pulled away? Recall that the veil is a piece of tulle, or gauze, with which some mantillas are trimmed and adorned at the top; and it is used as a metaphor to show the materiality with which something deeper is covered; what lies behind.

When it falls and breaks, let us see what is behind it. After four tracks, the aim of this work has finally been achieved. In sound, this event is neither abrupt nor unbridled. It is rather subtle, velvety, and very well-carried. Idyllic softness and ethereal rhythms become the spearhead of this breakthrough. Just look at how the artwork on this release effervesces, and how, combined with that deep orange color, it produces deep trippy psychic effects.

It’s time to explore the depths to which Vivez’s sound takes us, which has already been seen but will also be reflected conceptually in the closing track Beyond the Surface, one of the best works of these weeks.
