Club Furies Premiere: Unknownfunction/Empath – Manifest [Limit]

One of our favorite producers teams up with Unknownfunction, an Australian artist who explores the relationship between structured rhythm and tempered sound. With influences as diverse as Autechre and Oscar Mulero, new aural combinations are synthesized from both ordered and random elements. Empath and Unknownfunction present Evils of Capitalism on Limit – the Australian artist’s label. Comprised of two original tracks, Manifest and Rebellion, the concept is a powerful one.

“Prioritizing human welfare over profit and accumulation, the sonic expression of which is to put Techno at the service of people, not profit-driven control.” An interesting project that started with a discussion both artists had about capitalism, from which we created two distinct musical visions. Dystopian and hypnotic deep techno. Which invites us to free ourselves from corruption and find our own untouchable inner power.

Noise in the form of dense and overwhelming intermittence, which also presents the manifesto of this work is polished as the track progresses. While noise in the form of vocals continues to hammer our psyche. Meanwhile, the rhythm is continuous, tight, but effervescent; mediated by the sound design, which does not let go completely. When the interference subsides, the moorings do the same.

In that becoming, the dancer/listener finds himself prostrate on deep, dark, underground dance floors. After all, the underground is presented as a possibility to that which is established, among which capitalism stands out by far. Parallel alternative sound that turns out to be exceptional.
