Jiho is a Korean producer based in Tokyo, Japan who has been active in the underground music scene for many years. Guided by his musical philosophy of building lasting sounds with dynamic textures, Jiho launched Subhills in 2018, a record label focused on defining the boundaries of groove and rhythm.

His craftsmanship originates from practicality, restraint, and definition rather than abstract inspiration. This results in groovy, crisp sounds that prioritize quality, texture, and resolution over narrative. This search for speed and minimalism in the most intricate details creates an atmosphere of dynamic immersion on the dancefloor.

His talent now rests on the terroirs of Diffuse Reality Records, which publishes his work called Stingray -that stingray-like, but oversized, sailfish with two fleshy horns near the mouth, which lives in temperate seas. Composed of four original tracks, Ornamental -that adornment, composure, attire that makes a thing showy- can be seen as that on which the manta ray is covered.

This means the sound, speed, agility, playfulness, and a lot of sobriety in the sound design. Patience in the way the sound develops and unfolds, reaching atmospheric deltas that cover it with layers of sound. Complexity that reflects simplicity in the production and enviable results. Versatile structures open to the infinity of sound, delimited by Jiho’s style. And tunnels and labyrinths that emerge from his structures that leave us stranded in deep hypnotisms.
