Club Furies

César Augusto Granados Pérez, also known as Granados, is an abstract human being, lover of the eighties, and nineties, grunge, graphic design, and digital marketing, as well as social communication. He began his musical career empirically at the age of 13, integrating as a vocalist in various rock bands from that age until he was 30 years old.

At 31 he began his taste for Progressive House, a genre that he would begin to mix in private parties with friends and acquaintances. His inclination for Dark Disco and Indie Dance arose during the pandemic, relating the sounds of these genres with the nostalgia of the eighties, an era of which he is in love. When he learns about these genres he is hypnotized by their deep and dark sounds, which fill and encompass what is his personality.

At the end of 2023, he made his first track called Chicle Infinito in collaboration with his friend Doall. That same year he founded, together with Doall and his friend Emmë, the collective called Lhabial, a collective that for the moment has been presented in several clubs in the city of Guadalajara, as well as its own parties. That’s why we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to invite Granados to the Club Furies mix series.

Our mix series is called Cintas Furiosas – Furious Tapes, in English. They are inspired by the band from the cult film The Warriors (1979) called Baseball Furies, and the scintillating Imperator Furiosa, the iconic character from the fourth installment of the Mad Max saga, Fury Road (2015). Conceived as tapes that express a “furious sound”, both as a metaphor and as a sonic process, they acquire a special and unique fury with each artist they feature. With Granados, the result is full of darkness and terror.

This abstract human who loves the darkest sounds with tinges of terror and a bit scary with good vibes presents himslef with strength and power. Among the deepest ones, they tell us a story in every beat and make us fly and land in every change of tone with a sigh that hits directly your brain and heartbeat. Electric to start, with frenetic rhythms and atmospheres prostrate in the depths of the night, the fury of Granados‘ sound is quickly infectious.

Between imperceptible transitions and coordinated rhythms until symbiosis, the sound takes us to trances mediated by the mood generated by the artist and dances that are sensual and exciting. Modeling in the sound futuristic and utopian environments, coming to rest in the vicinity of the worlds of Tron: Legacy, the mood changes. From the depths of night to deep semi-nostalgic hypnosis. The journey lasts an infinity, and the transition is slow and taciturn – it has to be, after the energy required.

Afterward, everything sinks into underworlds and hells filled with purple, black, and reddish colors, where the dance becomes ritual and the dancers become sweaty shadows side by side. It is an extraordinary Cinta Furiosa that makes us dance all night long, in its climax, that takes us to the eternization of the dance and the party through the ritual and the entrance to other worlds.
