Club Furies

The talented Berlin producer Perfo is featured on the Illegal Alien LTD imprint from the Mexican label Illegal Alien Records. This release is presented in physical format, on a beautiful ten-inch vinyl. It is titled It Was Not Coffee and is composed of two tracks per side plus one track on the digital edition. It is dense and deep and reaches psychologically piercing levels. A wonderful introspective journey.

The sound of Just A Clap Story is difficult; abstract and an attentive listen. It demands the listener, and it demands to know about this sound. Neat, detailed, and overwhelming, this clap story is at the same time overflowing with influences that shape it. Taciturn unfolding, almost in the vicinity of the veins of the night and the earth’s crust. When listened to on vinyl it crackles, just as the earth would when no one pays attention to it.

At the same time it is a serious techno, which is not discussed in common places, nor does it want to. It is discussed in the arena of techno that wants to be real techno, although this label is often worthless. What counts is an honest sound, which we have here.
