Istanbul-based Turkish artist Arya, also known as Atomic Playgirl, presents one of two works on the Spanish label Diffuse Reality Records. Arya made her first production work in the psychedelic genre 10 years ago. In 2019, she had her first DJ gig at Zorlu PSM %100 Studio. Arya enjoys developing himself in music production, witnessing how people are liberated by dancing during her performances. She conceives music as a means of communication and the effect this adds to his musical build-up. Her performances focus on Acid House, Acid, and Electronic genres.
Nec Plus Ultra is a collection of says original tracks, whose title means «not beyond». If we think of Abluka‘s sound as a kind of infinite space, in which there is nothing beyond it, we could identify an infinite series of carefully assembled interferences in multiple layers that resemble extended historical times that seen in retrospect accumulate intensely. Seen in short lapses they run swiftly, as well as nimbly, amidst metallic sounds and nostalgic halos, but embedded in utopian semantics.
In the end, it all swirls into velvety electric sounds, full of fearlessness and plenty of psychedelic intensity. It’s clear that the entire album promises to be one more gem in the Spanish platform’s catalog. The best thing is that we will have two full-length albums from the Turkish artist by Diffuse Reality.
