Club Furies

The Sound Collective is a Finnish-Romanian artist collective, radio station, and record label that brings together a group of artists who share a love for electronic music, vinyl, and good vibes. For their latest release, they present Finnish producer Empath, along with Finnish jazz legend and jazz and electronic pioneer Tapani Rinne, playing bass clarinet.

Tapani Rinne is a Finnish musician, composer, and record producer, known for his experimental and innovative style on clarinet and saxophone. Together, he and Empath present Road To Quantum, a work of two original tracks―the eponymous track and Felucca―accompanied by a Kimik remix. The aim is to create a kind of free jazz plus hybrid techno.

Quantum is a term that comes from quantum physics and refers to the minimum amount of any physical entity involved in an interaction. In the sound of these two artists, the path to that unity is expressed with fine and subtle strands whose precision and delicacy resemble that minimum quantity to which the title refers. With magnificent sonic ingenuity, the sound does not take long to enchant us and subsume us in its domain.

In the end, it all happens in unique rhythmic floats and fine sonic strands, reflecting a very well-achieved sound design. A hybrid techno with improvised jazz that is suggestive and magnificent.
