Club Furies

Brazilian producer from São Paulo, Ricardo CIOFFI, or just CIOFFI, presents his new work on one of our favorite labels of the moment. Hailing from Porto, Portugal, Underdub Records presents this producer’s debut EP on the label. Entitled Lesson, it is a captivating journey that immerses listeners in a rich sonic tapestry of musical discovery. It is comprised of three original mixes along with inspired remixes by Amour Noir, Ellie (GR), and Allan Gallego, which expand the diversity and depth of the compositions.

The title track, Lesson, introduces listeners to a pulsating sonic landscape with hypnotic rhythms and captivating melodies that evolve throughout the music. Remixes by Amour Noir, Ellie (GR), and Allan Gallego bring fresh interpretations and perspectives, adding additional layers of depth and energy to CIOFFI‘s original compositions. While the final track, Open Mind, is the end of the loop, which, as the name implies, doesn’t end. So everything starts all over again.

What does it mean to have an open mind, and what does it mean in sound? If we know that art opens up to us through perception and the way to describe sounds is by language, what does the artist want to tell us when he names this sound Open Mind? The sounds in principle are powerful, explicit, and very self-confident. With clean and thick structures and crisp and well-swirled sound layers.

Rhythms are always exciting and constantly energized. Sound structures get stronger as the sound progresses. And a sound design that is unique and enviable. Perhaps then that of open mind supposes the mental capacity to forge these sounds, which result from any work of art that calls itself as such: sound surprise and novelty through established forms -as it is in this case techno.

On Lessons, CIOFFI demonstrates an exceptional ability to blend elements of melodic techno, deep house, and atmospheric textures into a cohesive harmony. Each track serves as a musical lesson, exploring emotional themes and sonic narratives that captivate the imagination. Another great release from Underdub Records.
