The last time Parisian Berlin producer Rey Brennan was in the catalog of the international platform Illegal Alien Records for the eleventh volume of the compilation Various Artists Deported Series. Now he returns to present a full four-track work called The Revival. A striking title since we know that revival in the context of electronic music represents the resurgence in the present of genres, styles, and combinations once relevant in another time.
So we are in front of a powerful nutrient of meanings, without any doubt. For now, we present to you the premiere of Put Your Faith In Me, the opening track of The Revival, which as a whole performs an impressive rhythmic modulation of speed. Which always lifts the mood and keeps us on our toes and dancing. Putting your faith in someone else is as we know very powerful; and if the recipient of the faith is yourself, even more so.
Ethereal and well-defined vocals, with the vocal capacity to subsume us to their commands, we reluctantly know where to put our faith. In the midst of such enchanting vocals, the sound performs a roller coaster of well-modulated speed that keeps us both mesmerized -by the voice- and well entrenched on the dance floor -by the coming and going of the rhythm.
Between those up and down, delirious velvety sound whirlwinds are formed, announcing their arrival to silence. Could it be an announcement of what is to come in the second track, titled Tornado? It sounds like it. For now, put on repeat Put Your Faith In Me which is a sonic delight without equal.
