The desert label based on the sounds that can be observed from there to outer space, presents its new release. We talk about Arido Records, who presents its forty-first release of the label’s digital catalog. It is called Throught Routine, an extended play by the talented Argentine producer Federico Cesio. Composed of five exquisite tracks of neat techno with brilliant minimal sequences, infinite atmospheres, and textures, it imbues great dynamism to the composition of the whole work.
Present Enjoyed is the track at the heart of this release. With guidelines in what is currently known as sci-fi techno – that (sub)genre conceived by Jeff Mills, – which are embodied in radio transmissions of some astronaut – lost, probably – and very clean and bright sounds. The track achieves a very limpid landscape, prostrated in lunar environments, which are crunchy, earthy, and mountainous.
At the heart of the sound, there are always complex sonic layers, which are nevertheless handled with absolute mastery. This allows, not a simplification of what is handled, but a complexity handled with enviable skill and sonic design. With two recent works, one on Diffuse Reality Records, and this one now on Arido Records, Federico Cesio shows a well-established artistic capacity.
