Club Furies

Mikola Rushnitsya is 23 years old. He is a DJ based in Kyiv, Ukraine and a resident of the Ukrainian label 6̸6̸6̸6̸6̸6̸6̸6̸. He likes different types of hard dance techno, although his favorite is hypnotech. We got the chance to have him in our mix series, always looking for new and emerging talent. This time, the result, as always, is mind-blowing.

Our mix series is called Cintas Furiosas – Furious Tapes, in English. They are inspired by the band from the cult film The Warriors (1979) called Baseball Furies, and the scintillating Imperator Furiosa, the iconic character from the fourth installment of the Mad Max saga, Fury Road (2015), and now too from the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024). Conceived as tapes that express a “furious sound”, both as a metaphor and as a sonic process, they acquire a special and unique fury with each artist they feature. Mikola Rushnitsya is pure techno and hypnotech, with diverse sound flashes.

In this Cinta Furiosa, Mikola Rushnitsya mixed hard hypnodance with classic Berlin techno. In principle, the hypnotic character is very marked, which extends through subtle labyrinths. It’s like an invitation that skips diplomacy. After that, voices from beyond call out to us. Perhaps they are the voices that Secret DJ identified as what lies behind the portal. Behind the voices, the veil is drawn, which gives way to unbridled dancing. Again, direct and unmediated.

This previously poured character is prolonged and deepened, reaching very accentuated hypnotisms on the dancefloor, which also creates labyrinths on the dancefloor and in our psyche. This is combined with a precise heaviness that serves as swords and mallets to accompany us. Metallic, thick, but at the same time well-defined. And when it all merges into the tightness of this structure, everything is reconverted.

The mythical Not Gonna Get Us by t.A.T.u. enters into rave, bass, and groove territories. This refreshes the tape and the track. After that, everything is finally locked and densified, leading us to the climax and the rest of the night, which doesn’t stop and releases fleeting trance and pop sounds that imbue it with an incomparable uniqueness.
