Omid Mosayebi (Омид МаЗајеби) is the pseudonym of producer and DJ Marko Marković from Loznica (Serbia), born in 1999. Co-owner of Picasso Recordings (currently inactive label), he has several aliases and projects, including Azimetruum, Demons Are Black Holes, Dubrano, Deep & Dry, Picasso Groove, Dubishi, Deep du8, Varna Sankara; and soon Angels Are Pulsars. Under Demons Are Black Holes he has had a few releases on the Mexican label Tlaloc Records, headed by Mogo.

After his last release, for which we had a premiere, he returns soon to present Meteor, a collection of the 2k24 mixes of three tracks, those of Lie On Me, Deep, and Meteor, two of them in collaboration with another of his alter egos, Deep du8, and in special versions, titled Azoth and Aeon. This year’s Aeon version for Meteor already in the title presents very rich and suggestive meanings. Aeon is the unit of geological time, equivalent to a billion years, while the meteor is the celestial body that penetrates the earth’s atmosphere.

If we want to synthesize the sound of this track, in a crude way, we would say that it is a meteor whose duration of impact is one aeon. We have to break it down even further. The sound design involved in this assertion implies perseverance, patience, and precision. The first two qualities are because the sonic layers that compose it extend over the temporal palette in a prolonged and profound manner. While the third quality implies accuracy in the assemblage.

Not only that, but the fabricated texture contains striking rhythmic layers that allow the listener and dancer to not only be attentive, but to dance to the rhythm that is imposed on them. An aeon of duration and a meteor of energy. With every release of Demons Are Black Holes on Tlaloc Records, this time also with Deep du8, we confirm that it is positioning itself as one of our favourite sounds.
