Club Furies

Nearing fifty shows, we are delighted to welcome a great of the international underground techno scene. Anders began his career as a DJ in 2000 in the East Zone of São Paulo, promoting events and playing at street parties. Soon after, he expanded his activities to major events in Brazil and Argentina.

Resident of Club A Loca for 7 years and throughout his career, he has shared the booth with renowned DJs such as Ben Sims, Vitalic, Tin Taylor, and David Carreta, among many others. In 2008, Anders took the plunge into music production and has since seen his tracks released on major labels, conquering playlists from artists such as DVS1, Amelie Lens, and Fernanda Martins and reaching the top of Beatport and Juno Download.

He is currently resident DJ of the project CONTRA in São Paulo and a member of the projects RUPTURA with his partner Danniie and Eremitas with Flávio Togni. He is also the founder and A&R manager of Primitive State Records, one of the main labels of the Brazilian underground techno scene, known for its heavy, hypnotic, and mental tracks, characteristics that also define Anders‘ sound.

Our mix series is called Cintas Furiosas – Furious Tapes, in English. They are inspired by the band from the cult film The Warriors (1979) called Baseball Furies, and the scintillating Imperator Furiosa, the iconic character from the fourth installment of the Mad Max saga, Fury Road (2015), and now too from the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024). Conceived as tapes that express a “furious sound”, both as a metaphor and as a sonic process, they acquire a special and unique fury with each artist they feature. In the hands of Anders (BR), our Cintas Furiosas are boosted to stratospheric levels, full of techno quality are equal.

Anders (BR)‘s artistic talent is twofold in that he is both a producer and a DJ; but not only that, he is a well-established producer in the scene, and a DJ who manages to bring his creative vision to the turntables. That comes across perfectly on this Cinta. Thoughtful transitions, which are not simply track-to-track changes, but with a clear intentionality. In addition to this, there are rhythmic transitions that measure the pulse of alter, sticking to his designs.

In this way, very hypnotic mental valleys are achieved, which then turn into mountain ranges and erupting volcanoes that quickly turn into lunar landscapes. In other words, the atmospheres and environments are varied, amidst exceptionally well managed. In this sense, you could identify three moments throughout the set: two that are a seesaw of emotion and intensity, which remain steady, versatile landscapes. A third moment takes the previous two for granted, synthesizes, metallizes, and robotizes them.

Its sonic correlates on the dance floor obey the moments leading up to the climax of the party and the climax itself. Think back to the last time you were out clubbing, and you will see how Anders (BR)‘s sound takes you back ipso facto. And like any set that has been thought out and conceptualized thoughtfully, it ends with a fitting conclusion.
