Club Furies

Hailing from Mumbai, the duo of DJs and Techno producers, Shubham Desai and Harshit Desai, are characterized by a dark baseline and raw, hypnotic melodies in their project called Heliosphere. They focus on the art of storytelling by creating sets with their performances, which bring out punchy basslines, distorted raw electro glitches, layered with looped synths and groovy snares. In doing so, they create an atmosphere that encapsulates the listener’s mind and body.

For one of their most recent releases to be published, they present Gamma Rays, a collection of five original tracks on the Spanish label Diffuse Reality Records. Gamma radiation or gamma rays is a type of electromagnetic radiation, consisting of photons, generally produced by radioactive elements or by subatomic processes such as the annihilation of a positron-electron pair, which is also generated in astrophysical phenomena of great violence.

In this context of these meanings, Protostar, the nuclear track of this launch, alludes to those primordial structures of gas and dust that are contracting under the influence of gravity while accreting material from their surrounding environment. These stars in gestation are in the initial process of star formation, before nuclear fusion ignites in their core and they begin to shine as mature stars.

A process that in sound is incipient, intrepid, and very direct. Always fast rhythms, with an impressive sonorous charge, the energy is nuclear. A protostar that is quickly on its way to becoming a star. A techno star that shines in Sci-Fi and hypnotic coordinates very well delimited. Between these two styles, the synthesis can be very overwhelming, as evidenced by the abrupt silence that ends it.
