Club Furies

Earlier this year we introduced you to Bøne.FM, a community-driven independent record label, internet radio, and magazine, created in 2021 by New Delhi-based producer and DJ Bønehead. Its elements are harmonized from both the live and electronic music scene in an underground mix of enveloping atmospheres and transcendent soundscapes, behind the decks and DAW. For his next release, XIMA unifies psychedelic and atmospheric techno on his new EP titled Refractions.

XIMA began his journey with dancefloor and old-school techno as a listener. Later, as a producer, he decided to explore the more hypnotic and atmospheric side of techno. Keeping the groove and bass tight, he started experimenting with the other elements, mixing the natural sounds of the environment with synthesized soundscapes, resulting in enveloping atmospheres. There are also moments when he prefers to slow down the tempo of his production to achieve greater immersion, dabbling in melodic downtempo music.

Refractions explores the vast and enigmatic realms of space, capturing its haunting beauty and inherent danger. Each track is a sonic journey through the cosmos, reflecting the intricate dance of celestial bodies and the deep isolation of the void. Pulsing bass lines mimic the gravitational pull of distant planets, while synthesizers evoke the shimmering light of the stars, inviting listeners to traverse the unknown.

The soundscapes of the EP oscillate between moments of serene beauty and intense, foreboding energy, reflecting the duality of space: a breathtaking expanse filled with wonder, yet fraught with danger. With intricate layering and enveloping textures, Refractions invites us to lose ourselfs in the depths of sound, contemplating the mysteries of existence beyond our earthly confines. Each track is a reminder of the delicate balance between enchantment and danger and encapsulates the essence of the infinite diversity of the universe.

Lunar Dust is the sonic enunciation of this process. As the sound progresses and the sound layers swirl into each other, we arrive at a lunar dust. Of extensive dimensions, as well as deep and brilliant, they are a clear sample of the talent of this artist. Patient, versatile, and very well carried sound design. It becomes overwhelming in a charming sense. Almost seven minutes of immersive listening that progressively takes us to that state. In that way, as it progresses we feel more on the edge of the abyss that XIMA has built for us.
