One of our favorite series, from one of our favorite labels, presents its new edition. We are talking about the China-based platform Indefinite Pitch, which presents the twentieth issue of Destinations. This time it’s Aiôn Lazura and Oreste. From Grenoble, France, Aiôn Lazura, whose sounds are rooted in ambient, hypnotic, organic, deep, dub techno, presents Exhale. To exhale is to diffuse or spread.
In the sound, this is expressed through thin layers that are gently and placidly gathered together in the structure. At their climax, the sound deltas reach a limit of sound-mediated tension that characterizes the French artist. After which the exhaled halos are deeply, sharply but subtly noticed. Everything ends in sighs that reach the silence of the sound. The rest is up to us as listeners.
