Marek Bartůněk is co-founder of Cellar Door, Liminal Spaces, and Visions of HIIRA. His sonic work translates his life stories and experiences into music in the first of a series of two independently released tracks. After spending a few years deeply entrenched in a niche of the techno genre as a multiple-label owner, Marek Bartůněk has decided to focus on his own personal expression: no label limitations, differing opinions, and long waiting times for music to be released.
Throughout the near future, the artist will focus on growing his catalog on his own Bandcamp, capturing both his immediate feelings and his progress in the technical aspects of music production. One of those early works is Reasons/Words, comprised two tracks, The Reasons That Hate Made and The Words That Hate Made. The titles focus on two elements of hate. The reasons that lead to it, and the words that lead to it.
In The Reasons That Hate Made sound, from deep caves, and cold waters, as well as warm, in a sweet paradoxical duality. In the midst of inhospitable environments and vast depths. All this forms a sonorous whole, complex, at the same time warm and very welcoming. Although its elements are counter-intuitive to this effected reality, there can be no other elements.
In the end, everything is frozen in time and space, in distinct spatio-temporal coordinates, shaped by Marek Bartůněk‘s sound design.
