LUMERTZ is a Brazilian DJ and producer currently based in Melbourne, Australia. His musical style is based on percussive grooves and hypnotic synths inspired by classic Detroit and Berlin techno. With performances marked by an intense and energetic rhythm, LUMERTZ guides us to the dance floor in an intense journey full of looping sounds that aim to awaken the deepest feelings of the audience.

For one of his most recent releases, he is featured on the prolific Illegal Alien Records, after his outstanding release on the mighty Soma Records, remixing the legendary Slam. This is LUMERTZ‘s debut on the label. An incredible EP of six tracks titled Enigma. Undoubtedly, this is another great young talent from Brazil, who is also part of the new and powerful generation of artists from South America.

Nothing says one’s influences more clearly than the following title: Once Upon A Time In Detroit. The origin of techno; a past origin; and a place of fantasy, in which it became reality. Now, in the midst of a six-track work, with contemporary rhythmic enclaves, it stands the way in which the classic takes place in the present, especially with clear significant, and sonorous reminiscences.

The funk that characterized Detroit Techno becomes latent in this track, and certain minimal tones of Berlin techno stand out. While the vocals allude to its primordial origin, and the intensity and speed of its adopted home. In short, it is a detroiesque-Berlin gem that leaves us delighted, especially because it sounds very fresh in environments where sometimes it seems that those sounds are far away.
