Diana May‘s sole aim is to take us on a special journey, away from everyday thoughts and struggles, making the moments we share together worth remembering. Diana May is a DJ, producer, and coach based in Berlin, Germany, and originally from Russia. She is a formidable force in techno, with a ten-year career in which she has fused acid techno with breakbeats.

Her powerful and uncomplicated sound, with touches of lightness, has captivated audiences all over Europe, making her an international icon of the Berlin underground scene. Rooted in Russia and raised in Austria, Diana May‘s fearless attitude and passion for hard-hitting beats have led her to share the stage with renowned artists. She is a resident of Electric Monday at Berlin’s KitKat Club. Beyond her electrifying sets, Diana is a skilled producer and dedicated DJ mentor, sharing her knowledge and experience to inspire the next generation of electronic music artists.

For one of his most recent releases to be released, she presents Rave by Barcelona, Spain-based artistic platform Diffuse Reality Records. A collection of five original tracks and a remix of Tokyo Calling. The origin of the rave scene most probably took place in the UK, with the expansion of house and techno in Europe. One of its characteristics is that the venues were large, so the crowd was much larger than the small clubs of the scene at that time. The sound was also particular.

The interesting thing about this work, titled Rave, is that the first track, the eponymous track, comes in quotation marks, «Rave». What does that mean? We don’t know for sure, but we can talk about the sound, even if it’s just a few lines, because that’s what matters, the sound. Unstoppable, fierce, and voracious, it is explicit with its objectives when the rhythm becomes ungraspable from the beginning, and the vocals chant «rave» several times.

After which the sound lets its full force be felt, staining the track with intensity, sweat, and abrasive dark reddish colors. It is a volcanic eruption that floods everything the sound waves reach. Meanwhile, the vocals continue to chant «rave» as if there is no tomorrow. Is there?
