Alex Dolby has been active in the music scene for over 20 years. His talent and passion for electronic music have allowed him to develop a unique and recognizable style firmly grounded in creating expressive techno. A deep love for analog sounds, rough textures, and hard beats are accompanied by a dystopian aesthetic. A clear focus on functional club weaponry is wrapped into his productions to pay homage to the dancefloors he draws so much inspiration from.

Sequenzial Shift was born in 2019 from Alex Dolby‘s idea to create a sub-label of Affekt Recordings. After ten years of Affekt‘s success, he now starts a new musical adventure. This label aims to explore new sounds and offer more freshness. Focused on creativity and innovation, Sequenzial Shift is committed to continuing Affekt‘s tradition of musical excellence and creating a new space for artistic expression and the evolution of the underground scene.

Focused on avant-garde techno, which embraces abstract sound design and analog experimentation, the italian label presents its new release, by the boss. It is an EP of six original tracks entitled Slow Life, with a particular mix of drone, ambient, and soundscape. I’ll Come Running is the second track of this work, and probably its title is due to a sonification of that process of immediate help that is given to someone, without asking for anything in return.

And this may be so because the sound is subtle, caresses the ear, and moves quickly, but at a delicate pace. In this way, I’ll Come Running offers caresses and sonorous charms that imply a very well-worked sound design, with patience and delicacy. And it is at the same time a reminder that, in this frenetic and non-stop life, it is necessary to pause and calm down in order to live.
