Hailing from Japan, a DJ and producer currently based in Germany, Kana Tokikawa is a techno music artist. While working as a resident DJ at the Tokyo techno party Reboot, held at the legendary club Maniac Love, she received many offers to play both at home and abroad.

For one of his most recent releases to be released, she presents Byakuya by the Spain artistic platform Diffuse Reality Records. The title means «white night» or midnight sun, and it contains four original tracks. An optical illusion is any representation of reality that fails to represent it properly; it’s like the senses deceiving us. It is also the third track of this work.

The sound is powerful, full of acid onset and Roland TB-303 knobs that shake trepidly, quickly driving us to madness. A madness that lasts a lifetime. That in the club means all night and all day. Violent, hammering, incipient, and very patient, the sound in this way melts all palpable reality. It begins to disengage from our senses, or they from it.

In this way, the optical illusion is one made possible by a frenetic, unstoppable sound, which suggests an aggressive and very well-carried sound design. In the end, the sound and the club ask the dancer to surrender completely. The dancer knows it; and will act accordingly.
