Tobhias Guerrero is a DJ and producer from Quito, Ecuador; and owner of Conceptual Formula. His vision of techno music and its variants is rooted in deep, hypnotic, organic, and futuristic sounds. We recently featured one of his tracks for release on Diffuse Reality Records, as well as a track for his label’s VA release.
Now, he presents a self-released track on his Bandcamp, titled Alba. Alba marks a special milestone as the 50th release in his series of self-releases on Bandcamp, available exclusively on this platform before its arrival on all others. The word alba refers to the first light of day before the sun rises.
In sound, this track is a deep journey that rescues the essence of low-end techno, combined with Latin rhythmic patterns that bring a unique groove. Alba envelops the listener in sonic hypnotism, where bass frequencies and intertwined rhythms merge to create an enveloping and energetic experience. Hammering in the beginning, with enveloping, empty, and very incipient atmospheres. Quickly a space-time worm is created whose edges are the sound of Alba, who has shown herself completely.
In this way, Alba is a tool track designed for the club and, at the same time very functional in open-air and festival contexts. It is a very versatile track, that adapts to Techno, and also works with various styles of dance music. The vocals are a sample of this, which are not characteristic of styles like techno, but of others.
