Club Furies

One of our favorite and most beloved labels is back! It’s Artscope, based in Seoul, South Korea, led by Yohan Noh, who had been on hiatus for some time. And what a release they come back with. Svarog is one of the gods of Ukrainian mythology, the god of metal, the forger, and the god of fire. It is the stage name of Oleksa Moroz, a musician and DJ from Lviv (Ukraine).

His sound is personal and unique, always focused on dark but evocative textures, combining saturated timbres, industrial sound, and atmospheric landscapes, even broken beats. Shades of ambient, mysticism, and real techno are the elements that characterize all his productions. Modern and futuristic sounds, far from fashions and simplicity, from the soul to all the intelligent dancefloors out there.

That’s right, Svarog presents the return of Artscope with Chronicles of the Final Departure, a collection of four original tracks that are simply spectacular. The definition and starting point of this work is as follows: «2153 A.D. The reincarnation of Oleksa Moroz in a spaceship leaves Earth, which is rapidly approaching apocalypse due to disease outbreaks, massive mental disorders, and spreading military conflicts.»

Eleven km per second is the third track of this work. To imagine that speed is to imagine some of its equivalents. About thirty times faster than the speed of sound; a tenth faster than lightning; or about one and two-fifths times faster than the space shuttle. In short: speed and velocity.

In the sound of this track, however, these conceptual references are recorded exceptionally. And that’s because the sound does not have to refer as a mirror to that which gives it its name. The sound structure is deep, while the layers that give it content are very well amalgamated. Dissonant with each other, it is Svarog‘s sound design that gives it a spectacular harmony. This results in a perfect sound, with versatile rhythms, which form a rich texture in their becoming.
