We present the Italian independent record label of dark techno, ambient, and experimental sounds, Research From Space Records. The format of the releases is physical vinyl editions, plus digital copies are available. The label is run and curated by iBOT and Allure. The label is underpinned by the fact that it does not consider itself or act as a business, but as a platform for talented producers to express their own style, and operate within the broad spectrum of ambient techno.
For their latest release, they feature iBOT boss himself and Lorenzo Panico, who began his professional music career as a DJ in Northern Italy, performing in some of Milan’s most underground clubs. His transgression from emerging underground talent to popular mainstream DJ had been achieved in his native country in the shortest of time spans, leaving Lorenzo Panico with a great yearning desire to try and discover new sounds and delve into production himself to develop his signature sets.
Cube is that container, usually in the shape of an inverted truncated cone, with a folding handle at the top. And it is the sound of this track that is the visual reference that will be crossed by the multiple sound layers. Slow, taciturn beginnings, announcing distant pasts and near futures. Horizontal emergences and vertical stars, collide in shuddering reds.
Speed in crescendo, and sound layers that hide behind enigma and mystery. Sound layers in full symbiosis, in the midst of extraterrestrial environments and atmospheres, announcing the arrival of the unknown, which is announced between mazes that vanish and unstoppable realities.
