Our beloved Hungarian label Dalmata Daniel presents its new release. Werner Sees Constellations in Marble Caves takes place in a world of spectral silence and decaying structures, where time seems suspended. Yinna‘s recordings, dating from 2017, capture the eerie stillness of brutalist suburbia and neon-lit voids, reimagined through S Olbricht‘s signature textures.
Together, they shape a dreamlike exploration of connection, memory, and dissolution, where echoes of the past merge with the pulse of an uncertain future. Anna Makay (MA’AM) and Juhász Tamás further unravel these visions, distorting them into new sonic dimensions. Werner Sees Constellations in Marble Caves, a hypnotic descent into liminal spaces, lingers between worlds, haunting, enveloping, and wonderfully elusive.
This is how this work is presented, hand in hand with the always careful curatorship of the Budapest-based label, which continues to surprise us with its own seal, which not only stagnates in variety without variation, but also makes the principles of all art its own: to find variation. The future opens up or begins to be conceptualized as a mode of time when society finds before it contingent possibilities and realities that open up to the ever-possible possibility of being otherwise.
The rework of the Juhász Tamás a Energy Comes from Organic Material is a total deconstruction of all the energy of material life. Taken to its last particles and atoms, it manages to bring us to life in its purest, rawest, most in itself form. It is at the same time, a way to see the past and the future from the present. Turning to see the lulls of the past from the present, it seeks to visualize a calmer, and more self-aware future that is able to see its blind spots. In this way, the sound always seeks mediations in time and in the interpretations of alter, in search of what it desires.
