Club Furies

Secus is one of the artistic projects of Matt Salamone, co-founder of the Ascetic Limited label. He has been a musician since 2002, a sound engineer since 2005, and a producer since 2010. In 2018, he started his solo project, Secus. Originally a drummer, he is heavily influenced by jazz and metal genres, translating their deep, driving, and technical elements into his own techno compositions. His powerful and dynamic approach aims to satisfy everyone on the dancefloor.

Rituals is the underground techno label of Secus, based in Los Angeles (USA). The visible head of the Secus label returns with his debut album, Shadows in Silence, which reveals his deep sonic evolution. The carefully curated selection includes eight original cuts from last year, plus two remixes. The release reflects the shifting textures and hypnotic energy that define his signature sound.

Blurring the lines between driving techno and enveloping atmospheres, the album moves between intricate rhythms, layered harmonics, and a sense of tension that rises and falls with each track. To add further depth to the project, remixes by SOLëM and Declan James offer new interpretations, taking the sound into new territories.

SOLëM is a Los Angeles-based producer and DJ. With a deep passion for weaving hidden wisdom into his music, SOLëM seeks to create powerful tools for the dance floor to delve deep within and embrace our shadow, as darkness is one with light. The best way to describe SOLëM’s sound is as a rumbling mass of sound, evolving through a thick fog that rests at the boundaries of what is perceived as techno.

While the original Neglect track joins the droning keys like an enveloping veil of smoke, creating a beautiful intensity, SOLëM’s version creates an eerie metallic timbre and a touch of abstract production. Mysterious and menacing from the start, it manages to bring out thin, subtle, and almost velvety layers of sound. Among such delicacy, darkness makes us its own, only in the fine thoughts of the angelic producer.

Earthy, lunar, and extraterrestrial territories are reached by his sonorous notes, which expand with mediations of a spectacular sound design. Everything ends in the uncoupling of the elements that hold our dimension together. This means that the sound cracks them, modeling new elements, and therefore, new dimensions.
