Club Furies

Founded in 2018 by Mike Griffin and Florence Meuleman, EC Underground is a multidisciplinary art collective that has developed several complementary areas of activity. One of their most recent works to be published is that of Dutch artist CausaliDox.

Marcus Moonen, born in 1976 in the southeast of the Netherlands, is a photographer, writer, musician, and filmmaker, with experience in scriptwriting, directing, filming, and editing. Marcus also produces electronic music (including films as Marcus Moonen) under the names CausaliDox, sonOnos, TriggerRa,t and Bob Knutton.

Marcus is a self-taught producer and sound engineer. Over the years, he has built a studio with a mix of vintage analog and digital equipment. His style ranges from industrial IDM and ambient soundscapes to aggressive acid and from melancholic electronica to synthpop with vocals.

CausaliDox thus arrives at EC Underground to present In No Memory, an album that explores existence without a trace, the total absence of memory. Contemplating the impermanence of all things, it asks whether existence makes sense without leaving a trace in any system, being, or observing entity, and whether such a state might be preferable.

The sound of The Futility Of Existing (A Timeline) is central to the concept of this work. Ambient sound that blends with deep thoughts and sensations that evoke perennial times, both past and future, amidst a feeling as nihilistic as it is profound. With a design that is always firm and subtle and delicate. With which the sound layers are perfectly aligned with what the artist wants to transmit.
