The art work offers a rich and atmospheric soundscape of the album, with melancholic electronic tones, smooth analog textures, and deep psychedelic elements, ideal for deep listening or as a dynamic film soundtrack. In the artist’s words, «In No Memory explores existence without trace, the total absence of memory. Contemplating the impermanence of all things, it asks whether existence makes sense without leaving a trace in any system, being, or observing entity, and whether such a state might be preferable.» Next Time The Sun contemplates the fundamental experience of consciousness, subject to the repetitive cycles of light and dark in perpetually rotating planetary bodies governed by Newtonian physics. Its sound is calm, but also with a latent tension that is felt almost explicitly: it is the subtle force of gravity, which in the end leaves us in nothingness.
The Net Worth Of Your Time And Existence questions the value of being when there is no trace of it left in anyone or anything. The sound resembles a web or spider’s web of sound layers that are threatening, mysterious, and reticent. They appear powerful, but hide under the veil of being and non-being. The sonic structure is overwhelming and overflowing, amidst skeins of striking and cinematic sound design. In the end, everything is suspended in electric strands that progressively run out of energy, reaching silence. No Choice addresses the oppression of unwanted consciousness. Its sounds show a more Industrial and Drone character, with Ambient notes crossing, going, and coming back. Apocalyptic, gritty, and perennial landscapes.
The Futility Of Existing (A Timeline) evokes the idea that the time allotted to existence is but a speck in an expansive timeline. Everything is intrinsically ephemeral and eternally forgotten. Rarely is there such an accurate and intrinsic connection between title and meaning, on the one hand, and all that meaning with sound. From infinite times, both past and future, sound approaches timidly but explicitly. Showing rough layers and precise Drone excerpts, the sound overwhelms.
Something Is Wrong expresses a dissonance with the very essence of existence. It does so through throbbing sounds, intermittent beeps, and sound layers that seem to disappear constantly. It is probably the announcement of the imminent; the arrival of the unpostponable; and the fictionalization of reality. In No Memory represents the ultimate state of never having been aware of anything, of existing outside of memory. It is the awareness of non-consciousness; the other side of the unobserved form. With such semantic labyrinths, the sound stays true to them.
