Once again, we present one of our favourite labels of the moment, with a sober but unstoppable attitude, as well as a mysterious visual and sonic style, but well established in styles and rhythms. We are talking about Wetland, a Russian label run by Damne, which this time presents its fourth instalment of its Various Artists series entitled Land.
This time, there are 15 tracks by 15 different artists from all over the globe, showing the plural and unprejudiced character of the Russian label’s curation. A captivating series of flights over the remains of civilisation. Rhythms of endless fields, music factories, cold forests, and starving dogs.
From the vast Russian territory, Tutulsky emerges as a mysterious and solitary figure who knows how to create impressive sonorous works. Leader of his own label TUTU, he collaborates with May Rai, a track that shouts his name and style clearly. Growing intensity, amidst deep and cold forests, that progressively reaches nostalgia, to once industrial wastelands. Times that are gone and times that are yet to come, that’s where this sound is embedded: in the whole temporal spectrum, in the past/present and future/present unity
