One of our most beloved labels presents its latest release. From one of the capitals of Brazil, Primitive State Records presents an old friend of the label, ASKE.
ASKE is a techno producer from the interior of São Paulo, Brazil, who started his journey in 2010. Since then, he has been building a solid path within the global underground scene, releasing on respected labels such as Primitive State Records, Modularz, Subsist, and Affekt Recordings.
Deeply influenced by Jeff Mills and other visionary artists, ASKE‘s sound explores cosmic and mental overtones through hypnotic grooves, enveloping textures, and layered percussion. His music is a balance between the abstract and the physical, designed to move the body and mind.
For his new release on the Brazilian label, the artist presents Occultation, a four-track EP of ritualistic techno with a sci-fi atmosphere. This EP is made up of dense and hypnotic soundscapes. A work that evokes the universe as a living, dark, vibrant, and constantly transmuting entity. Each track has a ritualistic feel, guiding listeners through introspective soundscapes while retaining the raw, futuristic energy that defines true techno.
Bending of Time is a very exciting title in itself, suggesting in sound the deconstruction of time on its own terms to reconstruct it in the terms of ASKE‘s sound design. With sonic influences clearly of Jeff Mills, and that semantics of science fiction, or more specifically, of the role of the human being in the universe, in which electronic music leaves behind its earthly mission to prostrate itself now in the extraterrestrial one, the sound wanders.
