Spanish label Ketapasando presents its new release, and this time it’s the much-acclaimed VA, a compilation of tracks from different artists. The title: Mesetarian Breaks. In the words of the label itself: «an accelerated journey through the landscapes of breakbeat.» This is the fourth vinyl release from the Madrid-based label. «A 12″ compilation that pays tribute to the rhythmic power of breakbeat in all its variations. Four artists, four styles, the same drive: to break the dancefloor».

Our premiere for this juicy VA is the cut from Berman, Madrid-based Extremeño reference, and part of Bellota Dubs, who deploys his sample-chopping style in a tribute to the purest 160 bpm. Rhythm in crescendo rapidly with the precise attitude that accompanies powerful sounds. Through the tiki taka of the sound, which comes and goes at impressive speeds, a knot is formed that has a reverse. As the sound is perceived from its intensity, it enters valleys that border on silence, amidst vocals that cry out for a return to old school and an attitude that only grows in confidence.

In the words of the label: «‘Mesetarian Breaks’ is not just an album: it is a love letter to broken rhythm, an invitation to get lost in the sound underground of the peninsula and a sign of the label’s commitment to the most restless and syncopated scene of the electronic scene».
