Our beloved Spanish music label, Subsist Records, returns to our pages – and we couldn’t be happier. The Spanish label, which continues to maintain a faithful underground curation – despite the fact that nowadays that label has been emptied of content, since nowadays everything is underground, or underground is not underground. Be that as it may, at Club Furies, we have the conviction that in electronic music, the side of the form that keeps the artistic quality of this music active is the underground, so it will continue to be our side of the form. 

Juan Ignacio Ruiz, better known as Rxxchx, presents Culmine de la Conciencia, a collection of ten original tracks. «From Mendoza, Argentina, the co-founder of the TeikoWarehouse collective, has been exploring the relationship between mind and machine for over seven years. His music is characterized by hypnotic sequences, abstract textures, and a marked sci-fi aesthetic that blurs the boundaries between the human and the artificial.

«This LP deepens in that search, proposing a sound language that tries to translate human consciousness in dialogue with machines. Each frequency works as a communication channel between thought and code, between the organic and the sequenced. At the same time, theological landscapes merge with science fiction atmospheres, evoking the vision of a dystopian future where spirituality and technology mimic on the same horizon. The result is an immersive, intense and suggestive journey that invites us to listen to the possibility of other worlds». 

Longing is a vehement desire that is directed towards some object, living or non-living. While dysfunctional refers to a maladjustment in the functioning or function of something. Functional often refers to trivial systems, that is, those that have no life. Therefore, to speak of a Anhelo disfuncional can refer to the fusion between biological life with that which seeks to have life from the advance of technology applied to circuits and logarithms. 

And in all this, where is the sound? In the process just described above. Crunchy, reticent, continuous, progressive; sometimes distant, sometimes close. Always with finesse and subtlety in the sound design, which manages to emerge a great complex sound. This is a great opening, given that it is the first track of this release. There is no doubt that Subsist Records stays on track.
