Club Furies

Sonora Destroy Records is an independent record label based in Bogotá, Colombia, founded in 2023. It presents itself as «Hybrid-Turbo-Transgressive-Beats for restless minds». For its most recent release, it presents HYBRID PULSE 2, the second volume of these compilations, which explores the hybrid limits of contemporary club music. And as we like to bend to the artists’ ways so that our interpretation is not open to pure contingency, we leave you the presentation of this release, in the words of its curators themselves. 

«This new edition brings together twelve forward-thinking producers from across the globe — from Colombia, Venezuela, and the United States to India, Australia, Portugal, and the Netherlands — to form a sonic map where mutant bass, polyrhythmic techno, twisted breaks, and futuristic club energy all converge.

«The lineup includes Cagua, Lucid Distraction, Frenquency, Bone Box, arni, Cacumen, Fourtwenty Sound, Paula Velez, Myledo, Bønehead, JUNIES, and Mijok. Each artist contributes a unique take on rhythm and sound design, resulting in a wide-ranging compilation that moves between high-impact club tracks and more abstract, leftfield explorations.

«The visual identity of the release was created by KAYU, whose symbolic and layered artwork sets the tone for the compilation’s sonic world. In addition, the limited vinyl edition features a custom augmented reality experience designed by Muluc Visual Lab, turning the physical record into an interactive object that blurs the line between sound, art and digital craft.

«HYBRID PULSE 2 will be released on October 2, digitally and on 12” limited vinyl. A special launch event will take place in Bogotá on October 11, featuring performances by some of the artists involved.»

Cacumen‘s Foragidx is an interesting debate between what represents that figure or social role in the sound. With calm beginnings that seem to carry a taciturn rhythm, it quickly integrates breaks that speed up the sound, while at the same time making it more complex. After all, the figure of the outlaw has never been one that is easily accepted. What we don’t know is his point of view.
