We conclude our journey through the latest release from the Austrian master of electronics, Mike Inzinger. The track «NY Tunnel» brings the final curtain down on his EP «Eyes Wide Shut,» released on a beautiful vinyl edition via his own label, MIR Records. «NY Tunnel» is built upon constant, patient, and very punctilious sounds that briefly transport us to the futuristic worlds of films like Tron: Legacy. In this atmosphere, reality decouples from its common dimensions to enter previously unknown sonic fields. It is an exercise in cerebral minimalism where every small detail contributes to an overall feeling of immersion in a vast, digital space.
The intensity builds in crescendo, managing to stabilize into nano-sounds generated by nano-controls that defragment the signal and drive it toward the purest machinic coordinates of electronic gear. The track not only closes the EP but concludes an artistic statement on the timelessness of techno. This has been an extraordinary journey into the essence of the genre.
