From the mysterious «Antarctic Atlantis,» Felipe Párraga, better known as Saurio, returns to our cherished Hxagrm Records. Following two acclaimed previous appearances on the Spanish label, Saurio solidifies his vision with a full album. This collection of eight tracks is a sonic manifesto that, in the words of veteran HD Substance, «represent the best of the concept ‘everything is good, nothing is filler’»).
The album unfolds as a rhythmic and conceptual odyssey. As HD Substance states: «An authentic collection of tracks for the dance floor, administered at an adult BPM rate, full of intelligence and detail, sometimes science fiction and synthetic, sometimes funky and mixed, sometimes linear and hypnotic, but always preserving the fundamental roots of techno». Saurio’s mastery lies in his ability to balance futuristic complexity with pure club techno functionality.
After a tough job of well-designed and interpreted sound, the track «Arcturians»—inspired by the supposed extraterrestrial civilization from an advanced star system that appears in science fiction narratives—»closes this epic collection of tracks, bringing the minimalist soul to the equation and demonstrating that there is still life in techno, you just have to give your tools a little love», says the great artist HD Substance. The attitude of «Arcturians» is undeniable, with ipso facto power, and profound mobility, versatility, and sonic complexity that defy strict minimalism.
From past echoes and future projections, the present temporal synthesis in the track opens the panorama to extensive and infinite dimensions. The track radiates patience and firmness, building broad sonic structures that extend and contract with millimeter precision. With its minimalist soul and cosmic narrative, «Arcturians» solidifies itself as a perfect and contemplative closing for an album that redefines the meaning of a «complete» release in contemporary techno.
