The international label Illegal Alien Records inaugurates its new series of physical releases in dubplate vinyl format with an undeniable force. The artist featured is Colombian Jauri, a multifaceted producer, DJ, live performer, and promoter based in Bogotá. As part of the duo Bimol, co-creator of the Kontra label, and co-founder of the Radikal Styles Festival, Jauri is deeply rooted in Bogotá’s underground music scene. Constantly pushing his artistic boundaries, his sound travels through hypnotic rhythms, rich textures, and enveloping soundscapes, creating dynamic and immersive audiovisual experiences.

Club Furies Premiere: Jauri – Cervicornis [Devotion Records]

His anticipated release on the label is titled «El Humo» (The Smoke), a collection of five original tracks that showcase a remarkably sophisticated sound design. The EP is distinguished by its extremely fine and subtle sonic layers, which, however, never lose the compelling spirit of a consistent and powerful techno. This work is a statement of mastery in atmospheric manipulation.

The eponymous track, «El Humo,» presents a sound of unbreakable consistency, yet with a ferocity mediated by a sound design that skillfully doses and manages intensity. The result is that the sensations are subtle, smooth, and very velvety, inviting deep immersion. The track is built upon latencies that excite and cause anticipation, while simultaneously manifesting with total rhythmic clarity. It is the perfect sonic fog to envelop the dance floor.
