Vigilia Works’ first release arrives shrouded in mystery and high expectation, as little is known about the debuting label. For now, we have the privilege of premiering «Pineapple Juice» by Mexican artist Fixon. Fixon is a key figure in the international techno scene, head of the influential label ANAØH and with countless productions to his name. This track reveals a lesser-known facet of the Mexican producer, moving away from his frantic and fast techno and leaning toward a sound that is fierce, heavy, yet surprisingly agile and potent.
«Pineapple Juice» unfolds with a firm, constant, and expertly managed sonic progression. The track is an exercise in sober, muscular techno. In its final moments, the piece leads us to a highly exciting delirium, amidst the atmosphere of cracking and fractured dance floors, surrounded by menacing sonic environments. It is dense techno that breathes authority and depth, ensuring that the debut of Vigilia Works, led by Fixon, sets a high and audacious standard for what is yet to come.
