The Return of DCM to Dissident Music: A Sonic Ritual in «Rezando Sin Fe»

In an often predictable landscape, DCM’s solo return to his own Dissident Music label with a complete body of work is an event that demands careful listening. Far from the mainstream currents, the artist presents us with «Rezando Sin Fe» (Praying Without Faith), a work that stands as an act of pure electronic art. This is a collection of three original tracks and a remix by the talented Squaric, where stripped-down sound and desolation are transformed into the raw material for building a powerful declaration of principles: even when faith has run out, purpose and conviction persist.

DCM’s music has always been a territory for explorers, and «Rezando Sin Fe» is no exception. This is the perfect release for entering his universe, which we will complete with the textures and nuances we discover upon listening.

The title «Pilares» (Pillars) is solid in itself, as it refers to a structure that stands firm against all odds. It features a robust and constant rhythmic base, like a heartbeat in the gloom. Its melodic elements are progressive, creating an atmosphere that is at once somber and hopeful, erecting in sound the monument suggested by its name.

If we listen carefully, we can identify how the sonic layers, like pillars, are assembled. From clearly identifiable bits to subtle sonic sweeps. This suggests emotions of strength and feelings that move from the gloom to the heights of the surroundings. The feeling at the end is one of constant evolution built from the essential to the complex.

«Envoy» – the «Enviado» or «Messenger» – is the vehicle of the album’s narrative, a bridge between desolation and purpose. Its sounds feel like a distant transmission that has yet to receive a reply. Signals and codes enveloped in desert dust, back and forth. The percussion is fleeting yet precise; explicit yet wandering, taking listeners through a desolate landscape full of secrets.

Transversal atmospheres are the core of this track: constant, harrowing, yet well-rooted in presents and futures that bring something. The message arrives and fails to arrive, amidst sounds with impressive emotional potential. Constantly static movement in a journey that leads us nowhere.

«Disease» portrays illness as a metaphor, but also as a momentum. This is probably the darkest and most forceful track on the EP. Deep and highly significant bass lines and concepts. Delicate yet aggressive distortions that reflect the idea of an internal ailment or a corroded society. Nevertheless, this «suffering» is transformed into dense, compact energy through an unstoppable rhythm that finds strength in its own decay. Ordered chaos that flows towards power and determination with precise sound design.

Squaric’s interpretation of «Pilares» does not seek to soften the wound, but to accept it. His Sentimental Remix dismantles the original structure to highlight its vulnerability. However, this vulnerability is first shown as strength, as the rhythm is potent and dizzying from the start. The progression of the sound becomes atmospheric, with ambient arrangements, luminous pads that contrast with the somber base, and a groove that, although present and frantic, allows greater space for reflection.

It is the same essence, but viewed through a prism of melancholic beauty, very much in line with the subtle sophistication of the Diffuse Reality Records boss. When we listen to it, we notice the redefinition of the original’s emotivity, with dual and bivalent sentimental nuances, ranging from the intrepid to the introspective, overflowing with feeling.

«Rezando Sin Fe» is shaped not as a simple EP, but as an integral artistic declaration. DCM demonstrates that the true strength of electronic music lies in its capacity to connect with the deepest and most complex human emotions. It is a work that does not tell you how to feel, but accompanies you in your own process of introspection and finds beauty in the ruins. A spectacular and necessary return, in short.
